Colorado Turfgrass Foundation

The Colorado Turfgrass Foundation (CTF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the improvement of the turfgrass industry. Its purpose is to solicit, administer, and disburse gifts for the advancement of turfgrass science in the Rocky Mountain region.

CTF supports turfgrass students through scholarships at Colorado State University (CSU) and other colleges and universities throughout the State. In addition, the Foundation also supports major research projects at CSU.

In tribute to a great champion of turfgrass research and development, the Jackie Butler Memorial Endowment Fund was founded in 1992. An internationally known industry research expert, Jackie Butler was also known for his commitment to professionalism and his pursuit of excellence.

Grants from the Jackie Butler Memorial Endowment Fund are used to study important environmental issues related to turf management and agronomic practices affecting the integrity and vitality of the turf industry. The Fund also rewards academic excellence by granting turfgrass scholarships to deserving students. Selection is based on academics in addition to work experience and extracurricular involvement in turf-related activities. Lastly, the Jackie Butler Memorial Endowment Fund helps to purchase turfgrass research and development equipment and materials for C.S.U.

The Colorado Turfgrass Foundation and the Jackie Butler Memorial Endowment Fund represent dedication, commitment to excellence, and a belief in the future of the turf industry. Foundation sponsored scholarships and research projects make a difference in Colorado and around the world.
